Details and settings
This browser may pass on only one update per screen frame. If so, the number stays near the screen's refresh rate.
How to test
- Click the left, right and wheel buttons over the test area.
- Press the side buttons if your mouse has them.
- Roll the wheel up and down.
- Move the mouse quickly in circles for a second to estimate how often it reports.
How a double-click fault is judged
If the same button is pressed again within 50 ms of being released, this site counts it as a possible double-click fault. A press that quick is unlikely to be on purpose. 50 ms is this site’s own rule, and you can change it under Details and settings.
About the updates per second
The number is an estimate. It counts pointer updates your browser received while the mouse was moving fast. When a browser passes on only one update per screen frame, the number stays near the screen’s refresh rate and the true rate of the mouse can be higher.

Questions
My side buttons do nothing here. Why?
A mouse’s own software can turn the side buttons into keys or macros. Then the browser does not receive them as mouse buttons. Check the mouse software, or test without it running.
Can a web page measure the real polling rate?
Only roughly. A page sees the updates the browser hands over, not the USB traffic itself. Treat the number as the least your mouse is doing.
Does the right-click menu still work?
Inside the test area the menu is turned off so you can test the right button. It works as usual everywhere else on the page.
