What happens to your sound and video
The mic level, recordings, camera preview and photos are processed inside this tab. They are not uploaded, and they are gone when you close the tab.
The page asks for the mic or camera only after you press a button, and a Stop button stays visible while either is on.
Results are judged by rules shown next to them, for example what counts as double-typing. Where a number is an estimate, it says so.
Guides
- Keyboard typing double letters: how to confirm chatteringOne press, two letters? Confirm double-typing (chattering) on a single key with the keyboard tester, see how the 30 ms rule decides, and rule out other causes.
- Key rollover and ghosting: test how many keys register at onceHold keys together and see how many your keyboard really reports. A practical way to test key rollover and spot ghosting or blocked combinations.
- Microphone not working in the browser: a permission checklistMic silent in a browser call? Run the mic test, read the message it gives and follow the matching fix: site permission, system setting, device or another app.
- How to check a new monitor for dead pixels and the right refresh rateA ten-minute check for a new monitor or laptop screen: full-screen colors to find bad pixels, what to note down, and a test of the refresh rate it really runs at.
